EXHIBITOR & VENDOR

JAPOC is a mixed-media artist and paper pop-up illustrator. Her work focuses on storytelling within post-apocalyptic settings. She studied Interior Architecture at KMITL, a background that informs her focus on structure and space. Her core idea is that the breakdown of society allows people to be their true selves, and she finds a unique beauty in cities being reclaimed by nature. Driven by a love for drawing and narrative, she uses several methods to communicate her ideas, including comics, illustrations, zines, and paper pop-up constructions. Across these works, she highlights the simple, daily moments that bring happiness to survivors. A major source of inspiration is the urban environment itself. JAPOC enjoys exploring derelict spaces on foot, finding that the contrast between city life and neglect unexpectedly fuels her imagination with scenarios of escaping the undead. JAPOC’s work has earned several major awards and recognition, including First Place in the 8th Annual Manga Kingdom Tottori International Comic Art Contest (2019), Second Place in the LINE WEBTOON Thailand Contest (2020), and Third Place in the ARN Short Story Contest (2021). She continues to fully dedicate her practice to telling stories from the survivor's point of view in collapsed worlds.

about the artwork…

NO RETURN

This piece, having the tagline "Where Survival Begins,” presents a frozen moment in a dense, chaotic urban environment where ordinary life has violently collapsed. Presented as a detailed side-view paper pop-up illustration, the work captures the panic of survivors struggling to outrun the undead. Drawing on an architectural background, the artist meticulously constructs the scene, using the fragility of the paper medium to underscore the vulnerability of the city’s structures and its inhabitants. Beyond the initial chaos, the illustration explores the philosophical point of no return—the exact moment individuals are forced to abandon societal systems and confront their true, unfiltered selves. By focusing on the frantic action, the piece subtly invites viewers to consider their own capacity for survival and the small, necessary acts of resilience that emerge when all seems lost. The tactile, three-dimensional nature of the pop-up format pulls the viewer into the scene, making the desperation palpable.
