about the artwork…

LIVING FLUORESCENCE

Ultraviolet radiation, abundant in the solar spectrum, reveals remarkable fluorescence phenomena at night under UV torches. Several species worldwide exhibit strong fluorescence— frogs, scorpions, snakes and ferns— from Brazil to Vietnam. Researchers are only beginning to explore this fascinating field of natural terrestrial fluorescence.

This artwork is part of a graphic novel on fluorescent species, drawn in Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam. This Art-Sciences research is in collaboration with Paris Cité ITODYS and supported by CNRS-MITI.
