WORSHIP
by ZAWADI NOEL
digital painting, Clip Studio Paint
I drew this illustration on my flight back to the US from Thailand. It depicts a couple from an old story idea of mine. Their story is about an agoraphobic angel living in an old Manhattan apartment on the Lower East Side who falls in love with the woman who delivers his groceries.

2-PLAYER GAME
by DAISAKA
digital painting (Procreate)
This began as a study, and I added my own bit of seasoning as I went. I enjoy drawing characters in some form of distress that can be expressed in their faces. I feel like the face is an entire body in itself, capable of sending a message as potent as one could express with the entirety of other body parts.
So this was hard for me as the subjects are not seeming to be in much distress. I added sweat—it didn’t help much.
Concept Artist, Comic Artist, Illustrator
daisaka is a third culture artist who grew up between Japan and the US. He spent many of his early years traveling, and took on art as a means of stress relief. It is still very much a means of stress relief.
WHOA
by DA_KEY
digital illustration (Procreate)
The only thing that came to my mind when I read the theme was how it felt to experience an "awakening" like that as an adult person instead of a teen like most people. That's partly because I'm on the asexual spectrum and partly because trans people like myself don't get featured in the mass media things that usually cause awakenings. And when we are it is usually not a flattering, genuine portrayal that lets us be both human and hot. So I made an illustration about a character going to an art market and buying a porn zine made by trans artists, from another attractive trans artist, and reading it and thinking "that's the attraction everyone is talking about? we could have had that the whole time??". The posters on the walls are also little easter eggs for the works that influenced me a lot, Nimona by ND Stevenson and Be Kind My Neighbor by Yugo Limbo, which was the first time I read an 18+ book with a t4t (trans 4 trans) sex scene, and it was incredibly goofy but also portrayed genuine attraction.
Writer, Illustrator, Comic Artist, Mixed Media Artist
Da_key is a multi-media artist and writer self-defined as just "illustrator,” who makes art of the things in its head. They are mostly self-taught, fascinated by old book illustrations made with ink and dip pens, watercolor and anything else artists used before digital art became possible. They also love the vibrant colors that digital art provides and the new possibilities of it that don't exist in traditional art (like the lasso tool, have you heard of that thing? Life changing!).
